A place to discuss the works published in NWACC's Visions: A Journal of the Arts

Welcome!
I would like to welcome everyone to the blog for Visions. Please feel free to use this space to share your thoughts on the poetry, fiction, and art work found in our e-zine.
I wish that your editors had found a more original name for your publication. I was shocked that no one looked at references for VISIONS on the internet. Though our journal Visions International has been published for most of its existence by that name it originally was called Visions for the the first 5 of its 30 years and many references to it are under that name. Most people still refer to it and search for it under the shorter name. We only added that "International" because religious publications began using the original name (after we had adopted it!) and we do emphasize world-poetry. Admittedly we don't have copyright or trademark protection for our name/s but simple courtesy would have warranted avoidance of what will confuse readers and searchers!
I am disgusted that this publication whose editors didn't even check to see if the name was used in one form or another is, just as i feared, being confused with our journal of 30+ years. Things are tough enough already!! For those who would like to become aware of THE REAL THING, please check our web-site at: www.blackbuzzardpress.com.
Well, I am sorry that we have upset you, Brad. We had indeed checked to see if any other publication had the same name and since you are Visions International, no caps, and deal with poetry alone, we didn't think it was a trademark infringement. We also have been around a while--since 1995, issues are in the archive, and only went digital in 2007. If you wish to talk more, please reply in e-mail rather than post such angry and insulting messages.
Welcome to the new iteration of VISIONS: A fine Arts Journal. VISIONS started as The Artist and Writers Journal back in 1997. Its first issue contained scanned-in art ranging from watercolors to black and white photography as well as poetry and fiction by students at NWACC. (Please enjoy the back issues archived at our site for a chance to see what we publish.)
Throughout the last ten years, we have expanded away from being just a student production. We are now in the process of accepting submissions from writers and artists outside the school. (Please see the submission guidelines for how to send us your work.)
We are also going electronic and will no longer have a print version of our journal. This is an exciting step for us but it will allow for a greater ranger of material to be published as well as retain higher quality for the art work.
Thanks for being interested and pleas submit your work following the guidelines.

I like it. I think we are off to a good start here and can't wait to read comments from our contributors and readers alike.

Hmn...great reading...blown away by the talented Poets here. The artwork isn't bad either. Thanks.
